Affordable electric SUV enters mass market
Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the XUV 3XO EV in India, priced starting at ₹13.89 lakh for the base AX5 EV variant and ₹14.96 lakh for the top-spec AX7L EV (all ex-showroom), expanding its electric vehicle portfolio beyond its existing EV models. Deliveries are slated to begin on 23 February 2026 following the vehicle’s debut in Jaisalmer.
The XUV 3XO EV marks Mahindra’s move to bring electric powertrain options to one of its strongest-selling compact SUV platforms, aiming to attract customers seeking an everyday EV with SUV capability and technology. The electric version remains contemporary in design while keeping visual continuity with the broader XUV 3XO family.
Performance, battery and range
The electric SUV is powered by a 39.4 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that produces 110 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. The vehicle offers a claimed real-world range of up to 285 km on a single charge. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 8.3 seconds and supports superfast DC charging, reaching 0-80 % state of charge in about 50 minutes with a 50 kW DC fast charger.
Features, comfort and safety
Inside, the XUV 3XO EV retains a generous feature set with twin 10.25-inch HD displays for digital instrumentation and infotainment, LED projector headlamps, dual-zone climate control, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Connected vehicle technology branded Adrenox with 80+ features and built-in Alexa enhances daily usability and connectivity.
Safety and convenience technologies include six airbags, electronic stability program, tire pressure monitoring, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems on the AX7L EV variant. Premium occupants’ experience is further enhanced with features such as panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon sound system and a 360° surround-view camera.
Strategic positioning
By electrifying the popular XUV 3XO platform, Mahindra aims to strengthen its presence in India’s growing electric SUV market, offering an accessible option with performance, tech and safety that competes with other mass-market EVs.
