Pre-Series A funding bolsters charging network growth

EV charging infrastructure specialist RoadGrid has raised ₹12 crore in a Pre-Series A funding round, aimed at strengthening its product portfolio and network rollout efforts across India. The round was led by strategic investors who back the company’s vision to build scalable, interoperable charging solutions that support EV adoption and mass deployment.

The fresh capital will be directed toward expanding RoadGrid’s EV charging network in key cities and corridors, enhancing its charging infrastructure hardware and software stack, and improving end-to-end customer and operator experience. By focusing on both AC and DC charging solutions, the company aims to reduce downtime and increase accessibility for passenger EV owners, fleet operators, and commercial users.

Focus on software and interoperability

RoadGrid’s strategy emphasises software-driven infrastructure, including remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, unified payment solutions, and charger uptime optimisation. These software capabilities are designed to ensure seamless charging experiences across different operator networks and help address common barriers to EV charging adoption, such as fragmented services and inconsistent reliability.

According to the company, the capital infusion will help accelerate product development and expand partnerships with real-estate firms, fleet operators, and mobility service providers. RoadGrid’s network deployment plans include both urban and peri-urban locations to meet the needs of daily commuters, commercial fleets, and long-distance travellers.

Market context and EV ecosystem impact

India’s EV charging market is in a rapid expansion phase, with increasing demand from passenger EV segments and electrifying commercial and fleet vehicles. Infrastructure remains a critical enabler for EV adoption, and startups like RoadGrid are focusing on building robust, high-uptime charging ecosystems that support a wide range of use cases.

The Pre-Series A funding underscores investor confidence in infrastructure plays that go beyond hardware installation to include intelligent software ecosystems and scalable operations. RoadGrid’s growth plans align with national and state-level efforts to strengthen EV charging accessibility and reliability across India.
