Raptee.HV to Begin Deliveries of India’s First High-Voltage Electric Motorcycle This Month

Greaves Electric Mobility

Chennai-based EV start-up Raptee.HV is gearing up to begin full-scale deliveries of India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle by the end of this month. After receiving overwhelmingly positive media reviews, the company is moving into commercial rollout mode, backed by more than 8,000 bookings from across major cities and smaller towns alike.

A New Benchmark in Performance EV Motorcycles

Raptee’s flagship model features a 240V high-voltage drivetrain, setting it apart from the 48–72V architecture used in most electric scooters. This enables:

  • 1-hour home charging
  • 36-minute CCS2 fast charging, using India’s 35,000+ public car chargers
  • High sustained performance without overheating
  • Strong capability on hilly terrain

Co-founder & CEO Dinesh Arjun, a former Tesla production manager, said the bike is priced at ₹2.55 lakh on-road, making it competitive with 250–300cc ICE motorcycles.

Deliveries and Expansion Plans

Raptee.HV will begin deliveries in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi and Pune, and plans to roll out 300 units per month by March. The company aims to deliver 2,000 bikes in the 2025 calendar year.

To support this growth, Raptee is:

  • Finalising a $20 million (₹165 crore) funding round
  • Scaling production capacity from 1,500 to 9,000 units/month
  • Building a 40-acre manufacturing facility in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu
  • Supported by the Technology Development Board (TDB)—a first for any EV motorcycle OEM

A Strong Signal for India’s EV Industry

With 70+ patents, strong investor backing, and a technology-first approach, Raptee.HV is positioning itself as a major disruptor in India’s emerging performance EV motorcycle category.
