ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India) has introduced an electric scooter specifically designed for Divyangjan and senior citizens, marking a major leap in India’s accessible mobility ecosystem. Unlike conventional scooters, the new model features a 3-wheel architecture, low floor height, and enhanced stability to support users with limited mobility. These design elements allow safer riding, easy mounting, and improved balance, especially for individuals who cannot use traditional two-wheelers.
The scooter comes with a wide cushioned seat, extended footboard, and ergonomic handle placement to reduce physical strain. ALIMCO’s intent is to ensure that differently-abled and elderly citizens can conduct daily activities independently, whether it is commuting short distances, visiting markets, or travelling within urban and rural areas.
Long Range, High Safety, and User-Friendly Features
The electric scooter offers a 100 km range, powered by a detachable lithium-ion battery that makes charging convenient for users who may not have access to ground-floor outlets. It also supports a 150 kg load capacity, enabling safe transport of both the rider and essential items.
For safety, ALIMCO has equipped the scooter with an auto-power cut-off, anti-tilt design, reverse riding mode, and parking assist. These features help reduce fall risks and provide additional support for users with limited strength or balance. The 3-wheel design ensures stability over uneven surfaces, making it suitable for both urban roads and semi-rural pathways.

The launch aligns with the government’s focus on inclusivity and mobility empowerment for Divyangjan under the Accessible India Campaign.
