Pluto Mobility Raises $2 Million Seed Funding to Develop Delivery-Grade EVs

Volume 1 Issue 11

Pluto Mobility has secured $2 million in seed funding in a round led by Version One Ventures, with participation from Grad Capital and several industry leaders.

Purpose-Built Vehicles for Last-Mile Delivery

Founded by Akshat Bhatia and Himanshu Panda, the Delhi-based startup is engineering electric vehicles specifically for high-frequency, multi-drop logistics operations.

Pluto’s scooter-sized vehicle features:

  • A fully covered design for all-weather protection
  • Capacity to carry up to 2x more orders per trip compared to standard two-wheelers
  • Urban-friendly manoeuvrability
  • Durability tailored for logistics workloads

The company argues that most current last-mile fleets rely on vehicles originally designed for personal mobility, leading to operational inefficiencies and safety compromises.

Pilot Deployments Planned for 2026

The newly raised capital will support:

  • Strengthening engineering and product development
  • Expanding the core team
  • Launching pilot deployments across key urban markets

Pluto Mobility plans to begin pilots later in 2026, targeting e-commerce and quick-commerce delivery fleets.

By rethinking vehicle architecture around delivery throughput and reliability, Pluto aims to improve unit economics for logistics operators without increasing operational complexity.
