Tesla has launched its first pop-up experience centre in Bengaluru, marking its debut in southern India. The temporary facility will operate from January 15 to 31, 2026, at the ACKO Drive Service Centre in Kudlu Gate. The initiative is designed to familiarise Indian consumers with Tesla’s electric vehicle technology through hands-on engagement and guided demonstrations.
The Bengaluru pop-up features four Model Y electric SUVs and includes interactive displays explaining Tesla’s design philosophy, safety systems, and performance capabilities. Daily test drives are available from 10 am to 9 pm through bookings on the Tesla India website.
Model Y pricing, range, and performance in India
In India, the Tesla Model Y is offered in two configurations. The Rear-Wheel Drive variant is priced at ₹59.89 lakh and delivers a WLTP-certified range of 500 km, while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version costs ₹67.89 lakh and offers up to 661 km of range. Both variants have a top speed of 201 km/h, with 0–100 km/h acceleration times of 5.9 seconds and 5.6 seconds respectively.
The Model Y supports Tesla’s Supercharging network, which can add up to 267 km of range in 15 minutes. Home charging solutions are also available for Indian customers. The vehicle has achieved five-star safety ratings from multiple international safety agencies and was the world’s best-selling vehicle in 2023 and 2024.
Tesla’s expanding retail footprint in India
Tesla currently operates permanent locations in Gurugram, Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, and Delhi’s Aerocity. Vehicle purchases in India require an order deposit of ₹22,220 along with an administration and service fee of ₹50,000. The Bengaluru pop-up adds a temporary, experience-led touchpoint to Tesla’s existing presence.
The move forms part of Tesla’s broader strategy to expand brand visibility and accelerate electric mobility adoption across key Indian markets.
